Verizon Rep did offer an alternative and sent me a Belkin N150 mini wireless USB adapter. It is able to locate and see the network but it will not connect.I continue to get the message "Validating Identity" and in the corner where my network icon is shows message along the lines of "Can not authenticate certificates." FYI It never asks me for the network key/password!If your network is Encrypted go on to step 6 otherwise Click ok and try to connect to your network again. In this window make sure you are in the "Association" tab.The installer failed to do so and installed it in the basement which was at his best convenience.
I have also read that WEP needs to be switched to WPA.If the box was checked, then that was why you were getting the “unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network” message because Windows is looking for one, but your wireless router is not setup for certificate security. Once I unchecked that box and tried to reconnect to the wireless network, everything worked fine! Are you receiving an endless "Validating Identity" connection status when trying to connect to a wireless network.I talked with Verizon Home fusion and stumped them. Thus far I am not satisfied with my 0.00 purchase. Please comment with any suggestions.(Note: This is on a farm in a remote area and there are no devices interfering with the connection as far as bluetooth, game console, microwave etc.).I am a network technician for a similar company to Verizon.
